Job description
The FP&A Accountant supports strategic decision-making through financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and financial analysis. The role provides accurate financial insights and reporting support to drive business performance and informed decision-making across the organisation. This position is offered on a 12-month fixed-term contract (FTC) basis.
Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis
Consolidate, review, and analyse monthly executive reporting packs, divisional budgets, and group budgets.
Prepare and present consolidated monthly financial performance reports.
Compile half-year and year-end analyst packs.
Prepare monthly board reports and management reporting packs.
Ensure financial records comply with company policies, procedures, and accounting standards.
Financial Planning & Advisory
Support budgeting and forecasting processes across the group.
Provide meaningful financial insights and recommendations to support business decision-making.
Assist management in understanding business performance and key financial drivers.
Provide financial analysis of operational issues and recommend solutions.
Liaise with internal and external auditors and provide audit support as required.
Financial Records & Process Improvement
Maintain accurate financial records and reporting documentation.
Support reporting system enhancements and template updates.
Participate in finance process improvement initiatives.
Assist with reporting automation and efficiency projects.
Business Partnering
Partner with operational and departmental managers to understand business drivers and financial performance.
Provide financial guidance to support commercial and operational decision-making.
Build effective working relationships with stakeholders across the business.
Administrative & Reporting Support
Maintain financial reporting schedules, templates, and filing systems.
Ensure reporting deliverables are accurate, complete, and submitted within agreed timelines.
Prepare, compile, print, bind, and distribute monthly management and board packs.
Provide general administrative support to the Finance function as required.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field.
Equivalent 3 year tertiary qualification (ISCED 6) will be considered.
Professional accounting qualifications such as CA (Chartered Accountant) or CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) are advantageous
