Operational Manager Nursing (Primary Health Care) (X3 Posts) West Coast District

Requirements:
Minimum educational qualification: Basic R425 qualification (i.e. diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification (R683 plus R254) that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse. A post-basic nursing qualification with a duration of at least 1 year accredited with the SANC in Diploma in Clinical Nursing Science: Health, Treatment and Care, accredited with the SANC (R48). OR A 4-year bachelor’s degree in nursing (R174) or equivalent qualification (R683 plus R1497 R171 plus R1497) that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse. A post graduate diploma (R635) accredited with the SANC in Primary Care Nursing. Registration with a professional council: Registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse. Experience: A minimum of 9 years appropriate / recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. At least 5 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate / recognisable experience after obtaining the 1-year post-basic qualification or post-graduate diploma in the relevant specialty. Inherent requirements of the job: Valid driver’s license (Code B/EB). Willingness to work overtime when necessary. Competencies (knowledge/skills): Good interpersonal, leadership, communication skills and a strong sense of responsibility. Demonstrate and in- depth knowledge of nursing and public service legislation, regulations and departmental policies. Knowledge of Human resource and financial guidelines, policies and protocols. Knowledge and application of Ideal Clinic and National Core Standards. Knowledge of Community Orientated Primary Care.

Duties:
The effective management and execution of relevant Curative Programmes within the scope of practice and to be an advocate for the patient to ensure the provision of necessary health care. The effective management and execution of relevant woman and Child Health and TB/HIV/AIDS/STI within the scope of practice and to be an advocate for the patient to ensure the provision of necessary health care. Effective management of support services which includes Information management w.r.t data collection, verification, report writing and submission of data, Human resources, i.e. supervision of staff, development and performance management, finance and supply chain management to ensure effective budgeting and control, Control over infrastructure, maintenance and security. Liaise with all relevant stakeholders. Provide holistic management and leadership in the PHC facilities, mobiles, satellites and security.
